I've received an overwhelming amount of interest in these paintings, and I'm thrilled to see so many of you excited about this opportunity!

In order to ensure the best possible results, I will be running an application process.
I have very limited availability and I am only able to accept a limited number of requests.
This means that not every request will be accepted - I will only be taking on projects that align with my artistic vision and technical capabilities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Application process

    Step 1: Fill out your application and share your ideas along with the story behind your portrait. You'll also need to provide reference pictures to create the painting.
    Step 2: Your application will be reviewed to ensure that your ideas and images align with my working style. Please allow up to one week for review as each application is individually assessed.

    Step 3: I'll reach out to you to let you know if your application was successful. If, unfortunately, I'm unable to fulfill your request, I'll explain why so you can submit a new application if you'd like.

    Step 4: If your application is approved, I'll provide you with a quote and turnaround time for your painting. From there, we'll begin creating your masterpiece!

  • Reference photos criteria

    In order for me to work with this painting technique, reference pictures must meet certain criteria.
    Images must be of high quality and resolution to properly appreciate all facial details.
    For a more engaging and visually appealing result, it is preferred that the subjects in the images are interacting with each other or in relaxed, natural poses. Avoid very forced angles or harsh lighting on the subjects.
    Please ensure that all photos submitted are in full colour and not black and white images.

    It is important that you take the time to find a good reference image. I will be happy to help you choose if you are undecided. Keep in mind that the quality of the photo directly affects the result. The better the photo, the better the portrait!

  • Pricing

    The cost of your portrait depends on various factors, such as the complexity of the piece, the number of subjects, the level of detail in the background, and so on.
    The starting price for a single portrait with a standard background (plain/coloured) is AU$190. As you add more elements like pets, additional people, or intricate backgrounds, the price will increase accordingly.

    Once your application has been approved, I will provide you with a personalized quote, so you can decide whether you'd like to proceed with the commission.
    Please note that the full payment is due upon confirmation and that there will be no refunds once the process has started.

  • Digital delivery only

    Like all my illustrations, these custom portraits are created and delivered digitally, giving you the flexibility to print them in your preferred size and on your desired surface.
    You will receive high-resolution files in your preferred format, ready to be printed on paper, canvas, fabric... or other surfaces. The possibilities are endless, allowing you to truly make the artwork your own and use it in several ways over the years!

    Please note that I don't offer printing and framing services, however I am happy to provide recommendations and advice to help you get the best results and make the most of your painting!

Can I apply for a painting that is not a portrait of people?

How long will my commission take if my application has been successful?

The turnaround time for your piece may vary based on factors such as its complexity, the current season, and your specific deadline. Generally, I aim for a 3-5 week turnaround, but we can discuss a more accurate timeline once we begin working together.

What if my application is rejected?

I'm committed to creating pieces that are true to my artistic vision and technical capabilities. As a result, I will only be able to accept projects that fit within these parameters.

I know this may be disappointing for some, but please understand that any rejections are purely for technical reasons and do not reflect on the quality of your ideas or the worthiness of your project. My goal is to deliver the highest quality work possible to each and every one of you, and this application process will help me achieve that.

If your application is not successful this time, please don't worry! I'll provide feedback on how to improve your submission for next time. You're welcome to submit a new application with updated photos that meet the technical criteria at any time.

Can you create a painting combining different images?

Although I can sometimes accommodate this request in my other illustration styles, it may not be possible with these particular paintings. I recommend finding a single reference image to ensure a natural-looking result.

Will I be able to make changes on my portrait?

I am always open to feedback to make your piece perfect!
While this painting technique allows for some modifications, it can be less flexible when it comes to major changes, so it is important to take this into consideration when making the decision. The reason for this is that I use multiple layers that are merged along the way, which may limit the ability to undo certain areas of the painting. However, I will be happy to discuss your requests with you and find the best approach to accommodate any modifications you would like to make. It's important that we discuss as many details as possible before I start painting to ensure that I can bring your ideas to life from the beginning.
